Art Leveris received his Bachelor of Science in General Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. After completing his degree, Art Leveris became a Division Officer in the US Navy.
After leaving the Navy, Art Leveris worked for Airborne Express Corporation, beginning as a Field Services Supervisor in South Hackensack, New Jersey, then moving up the corporate ladder quickly to take on a position as Station Manager in the financial district, NY, NY.
When Airborne Express merged with DHL Worldwide Express, Art Leveris was selected over several qualified candidates to assume the responsibilities of Station Services Manager in the north Boston metropolitan area. Shortly thereafter, the company conducted an extensive search for the Operations Performance Manager Position which he gladly accepted. One of only four area managers in the United States, Art Leveris demonstrated outstanding skill in implementing customer centric, efficiency-driven, company-wide improvements. Using an amalgamation of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and his own strategic insight, Art Leveris recouped revenues of more than $5 million by identifying, implementing, and streamlining billing quality processes. These processes were initially implemented in the Northeast and later adopted by the entire organization. Simultaneously, he educated, trained, and mentored the Northeast Operations Team on Lean Six Sigma Methodologies that enabled the Northeast to achieve record breaking service and quality results.
Such distinguished performance gained Art Leveris a promotion to Director of Strategic Initiatives (Impact) of the Northeast in 2008. Art Leveris continued to perform at the highest levels, applying his Lean Six Sigma training to save DHL Express millions of dollars in operating costs. Art was recognized for a process design change which resulted in a $50M annual savings and a 32% increase in productivity. During his time as Director of Strategic Initiatives, Art Leveris shared responsibility for the management of an annual budget totaling $600 million. In addition, Art oversaw continuous improvement efforts of 69 service centers, 327 management employees, and 3,827 hourly employees.
Art Leveris is Lean Six Sigma certified at the Black Belt level.
After leaving DHL in 2009, Art spent the next year consulting in numerous capacities from KPI management, process improvement, career coaching, to leading six sigma training seminars. During this time,
Art rejoined DHL Supply Chain as the Director of Operations for one of their BU's leading the East Coast Operations spanning from Toronto to Florida. Art continued to record six sigma levels of achievement in all facets of the operation improving overall P&L responsibility by 605% in 2010. Art Leveris was recognized for his innovative ideas and outside the box thinking which positively impacted all departments in the value stream. Many of the improvements made in Art's areas of responsibility were adopted company wide.
Art was recruited by Amazon.com and left DHL and moved his family to the Allentown, PA area where he lead improvements in culture and process in a fulfillment center that was previously riddled with bad PR. Art's hands on approach and employee engagement helped re-energize the morale which resulted in sustained continuous improvement. One of Art's major contributions at Amazon was identifying data issues in the company wide labor planning process after being told there were no issues and the algorithms being utilized accounted for all activity in the value stream. Art was able to identify a process path that was not accounted for, leading to labor shortfalls throughout the Amazon network. Additionally, Art mentored many managers who currently hold executive positions within the Amazon network.
Art is currently the Vice President of Operations for GEODIS Logistics and is responsible for 5 Distribution Centers in Eastern, PA. Art oversees approximately 3M square feet of warehouse space which encompasses 19 customers and 800 employee's.
Art received his Master's Degree in Leadership in 2021 from Trident University.
